Latest news...

We are very pleased to confirm this week that there will be a 'Give & Take' marquee during the festival, where people can bring along household items they no longer need, and take away anything they find there that they can make use of. There will also be a Children's Procession around the park at 4pm. A new children's playground is being completed this week, just in time for the festival!

Organising the festival...

By putting on this festival we aim to showcase the potential of Lordship Rec and encourage more people to use Tottenham’s largest green space. Last year around 3,000 local residents attended. The emphasis is on participation and building up community spirit! It has been organised collectively by the organisations involved with the Lordship Rec Users Forum.

Improving our park...

The Forum has co-ordinated 6 years of discussion, public consultation, and partnership-working between the Friends of Lordship Rec, the Council, Back To Earth projects, and other groups. Due to those efforts, and massive support from local people, the park has now been earmarked £4m from the Lottery. We’ll get this next year as long as the Council can raise an additional £2.5m 'match-funding' (we’re on the way!), and we come up with detailed and practical plans for the range of improvements agreed.

The plans include a new environmental centre, a city farm, restoration of the river, the Shell Theatre and model traffic area, improved maintenance and management… and much more! Together over the last few years we’ve already created new active play areas, some new pathways and flower beds, the restoration of the lake area and woodlands, and on-site staffing.

These are exciting times - we’d like as many people as possible to attend, help publicise the festival and the regeneration plans, and to get involved…

Help!

If you'd like to volunteer to be a steward at the festival (we need another 20 or so people) please fill in the form below.
