Sustainable Haringey food group

This rather boring title disguises lots of exciting ideas and activities happening right now in the London Borough of Haringey. We are an independent informal group, open to anyone who cares about sustainable food (defined below). Our interests range from practical food-growing, cooking and eating, to educating ourselves and others, campaigning, and influencing decisionmakers. We can offer them and each other a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience. The group is a member of London Food Link (LFL), and shares its aims: "increasing the availability of sustainable food in London; tackling the barriers preventing access to healthy and sustainable food for all Londoners; protecting and celebrating London's diverse food culture". LFL is part of Sustain: the alliance for better food and farming, which "advocates food and agriculture policies and practices that enhance the health and welfare of people and animals, improve the working and living environment, promote equity and enrich society and culture." We work locally, while also networking and sharing ideas with other people worldwide.

This group gave birth to the Growing in Haringey network - see www.GrowingInHaringey.org.uk
