For those wanting an introduction to renewables and are mad about bikes, this course is a great way to learn about creating electricity from bicycles. Sat/Sun 11th/12th June: Eco-house weekend. An opportunity to see a range of existing homes which have been retrofitted with energy efficiency and microgeneration measures to cut their carbon footprint. 15 houses will open in Camden, Islington, Haringey and Hackney, offering a chance to talk to owners about their experience of installing energy efficiency measures.4 houses in Haringey will be open (see the weblink). Passes for the weekend at £10 to individuals, £20 for professionals available from, with full details of the houses, how to reach them, cycle tour etc.

Wed 15th June, 6.30pm-8.30pm: Railway Fields Nature Walk and talk with David Bevan. Renowned London Botanist will be taking you around Railway Fields and pointing out all the interesting flora and fauna, followed by a talk about the history of the reserve. Sat 25th June, 2-6pm: Solar power and home insulation - stand at the Methodist Church Garden Party The 39 solar panels which Muswell Hill Sustainability Group have installed will be on public display for the first time + information on solar energy and home insulation. Sat 25th June: Launch of 'The Bus', a living memorial to Nigerian writer and campaigner Ken Saro-Wiwa Ken Saro-Wiwa was murdered in Nigeria for calling for environmental protection for communities being exploited and destroyed by oil exploitation by multinational corporations.
